I've always found it interesting that many people slag off Sniv, only like half of it,
find it self-indulgent, etc., etc. It's one of my favourite albums.
Having only discovered this genre of music very recently (Sept 94), my first Orbital
album was Sniv, then 2, then 1, then many singles. I guess having purchased and
listened to Sniv without having heard Orbital 2 allowed me to enjoy it much more.
Those who enjoyed Orbital as a dance act must find it hard to accept a more ambient,
listening oriented group now. I'm in the other boat. I new them as an ambient techno
outfit na d can appreciate their early days as a dancier act.
Does the evolution of a band's style and sound constitute a slap in the face to its
current legion of fans? That's the impression I get from the traffic on both this
list and the Orbital list.
