Bishop: The Catlaeptic EP (Emissions Static: PT 022) -------------------------- This is Paul Bishop's third 12", as his first two were released on Dutch labels Eevo-Lute and U-Trax. Just do yourself a favor and hunt them *all* down, because Mr. Bishop is doing some unbelievable things with his techno music right now. On _The Cataleptic EP_, he throws three cuts of deep, depressing electronic funk beats of varying tempos at you before dropping a totally stark, scary, undanceable piece of four-to-the-floor hyperspeed techno to close off the rekkid. Fierce. His rhythms are unlike anything else, and the same goes for his heart-rending musical sweeps and textures. Sad music, but it makes you happy to know that someone still knows how to push the envelope until it breaks. - Matthew P.S. Anyone know what's in the works for Bishop? Stefan & White Delight...are you out there? ;) "I grew up thinking that techno music is actually something that you can't imagine. That is techno at its best. If you hear something that you'd never expect to hear - that's techno. If you hear something that kind of sounds like you've heard it before, then it's not techno." - Jeff Mills
