Bishop: The Catlaeptic EP
(Emissions Static: PT 022)
--------------------------
This is Paul Bishop's third 12", as his first two were released on Dutch
labels Eevo-Lute and U-Trax. Just do yourself a favor and hunt them *all*
down, because Mr. Bishop is doing some unbelievable things with his techno
music right now. On _The Cataleptic EP_, he throws three cuts of deep,
depressing electronic funk beats of varying tempos at you before dropping a
totally stark, scary, undanceable piece of four-to-the-floor hyperspeed
techno to close off the rekkid. Fierce. His rhythms are unlike anything
else, and the same goes for his heart-rending musical sweeps and
textures. Sad music, but it makes you happy to know that someone still
knows how to push the envelope until it breaks.

P.S. Anyone know what's in the works for Bishop? Stefan & White
Delight...are you out there? ;)
"I grew up thinking that techno music is actually something that you
can't imagine. That is techno at its best. If you hear something that
you'd never expect to hear - that's techno. If you hear something that
kind of sounds like you've heard it before, then it's not techno."
