in southern Cali...
I hit 2 record stores late friday night; Tower in Canoga Park and
Aron's Records in Hollywood.
At Tower they were playing some intense techno. I asked the guy at
the counter what was playing now, he showed me a Cleopatra release
"Hard Techno 200 bpm", he was talking really fast, "no one buys this
stuff, it just sits there, but when I play it everyone comes up and
asks what it is". Question 2, "do you have any vinyl in this store".
"What's that" he asked. "Records" I said. "No, except in techno".
At Aron's I picked up Haunted Dancehall. "What does this sound like?"
the clerk asked. "I dunno, haven't heard it yet, but heard good
things about it", I replied. "Oh, probably like dancehall only they
try to make it sound cooler" he said.
I wish I never discovered Aron's. I spent 40 bucks there last
saturday, 40 bucks on tuesday (drove the 101 in the pouring rain) and
78 bucks on friday. This is worse than any drug addiction I ever had.
Out of this whole huge pile of electronic music I could live without
all of it except for maybe Orbital 2 and Trance 3. I wish I never
subscribed to this idm list. I wish there was no net. I wish there
was no computer. Bahhhh...shit! i just caught on fire. help!!!!
