Hey Tom - I am enjoying this mix and I dig where you're coming from with the more dancefloor-centric cuts. To be honest though I am less hyped about it than the Plex mix you posted earlier this year. The darkness (and yes the Dune samples) of that one just keep bringing me back. Thanks for putting the Statik mix up though, I'm sure it'll get some nice play around these parts. Hi Eric - thanks for the kind words! I'll admit this mix is somewhat of a departure from what I'd normally play. I intended to keep it purely minimal moody techno, but as more of the headliners from the event were announced I rapidly re-assessed to some more cheesy crowd pleasing bouncy stuff. Still, it was far more sedate than most of the pounding techno that featured the rest of the time - the Maltese like it hard! Thankfully I've got a fair selection of dubstep/techno offcuts that will no doubt reform into another mix sometime soon.. Good to know Apple considers my selection akin to DJ Assault, I'll be sure to use appropriate vernacular when utilising their technical support!
