audio and visual artists. The Butterfly Social offers an array of
conscious tonics and cocktails all set in an eco-friendly
environment. Come take part in the experience.
\\ Wednesday :: April 23rd Featured Artists ::
*EXPLODING Plastic and inevitable Redux* [vj/dj]
A pop explosion of electronic music, hallucinogenic video and
free improvisation comes to the Butterfly Social Club. Featuring
visual excess controlled by the warring talents of Stefan Muller
Arisona, aka robot_mixeur from Zurich and the robot electro
sci-fi of Canadian Steve Gibson. A happening on the scale of it's
1960s namesake. A glut of technology, an overload of the senses,
an immersion in an audiovisualscape. Post Re:vivify at their
Thursday IAM Visiting Artists Lecture Series at Columbia College
followed by a live audio/visual performance.
*DJ Warp* [dj] - Cultural Affairs
Brian Keigher is a Percussionist, Drummer, DJ and Major
electronic music scene cultivator. Currently employed at the
Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs, Brian organizes concerts
and festivals for the city, including the World Music Festival
and Chicago SummerDance series. DJ Warp is definitely pushing the
envelope by fusing world music with abstract electronic cultures.
DJ Warp is constantly exposing people to new forms of musical
expression.
*3pHaze* [vj] - MF Chicago
3pHaze is a visual artist, music producer and founding member of
MFchicago. 3pHaze provides visual eye candy as a VJ for various
musicians and events. MFchicago has now grown from two to over
two dozen regular participants and an even greater network of
associated friends, artists and collaborators. People often ask
what MF means. It means whatever you want it to mean.
*Carla Starla* [readings]
A graduate of Invision. Carla has been professionally trained in
the areas of Healing, Meditation and Clairvoyant reading. Carla's
goal is to help awaken the true essence of the spirit. Helping
each individual find a sense of meaning and purpose in their
daily lives. She shares all her knowledge with love, truth and
compassion. True healing and success comes first through the ever
evolving process of self empowerment. That is the gift Carla has
to offer.

*Derby* [dj] - Chilluminati / Touch Samadhi / Psymbolic--sounds
In his life as a traveler, Derby came upon the sounds of
psychedelica in Europe. Settling soon thereafter in Chicago, he
became a resource that pulled those with similar musical tastes
together. Derby has since proven to positively affect the Midwest
Psy/Goa music scene by being a driving force behind Touch
Samadhi, a founding member of The Chilluminati and an essential
programmer within the Psymbolic--sounds label. You can expect to
hear a skillful set of funky melodic soundscaping electronica.
*Zac Franzoni* [live painting]
Live Painting Sessions by Zac Franzoni who was trained by an
elite group of time-travellling artists sent to usher in The New
Renaissance. Bring your energy, passion, love of art and
collaborative mind to Re:vivify and join Zac for a live painting
journeyescape.
