I'm enjoying this season's burst of energy as people remember they're on this list and explore what it's good for. And like in every other forum, NFTs are proving an easy target. :) But one thing that sucks about running a big email list in 2022 is dealing with folks who mark our messages as "spam" in their mail client, I suppose thinking that this is equal to an "unlike" button, or even an efficient way to get unsubscribed from the list. Unfortunately that affects the entire list's delivery to everyone, even beyond that one mail host, as too many such reports at precisely the wrong email providers means everyone's IDM list traffic gets shuffled automatically into "Spam" folders, or worse, blocked by being dropped on public lists of suspected sources of spam. In those rare instances when we're notified in the form of abuse reports, we try to contact folks to figure it out. But some email providers are much worse about this than others and make figuring out who made that report and why much, much more difficult than running a free list like this should entail. And so it goes that just after this note, I'll be removing a couple dozen addresses hosted by hotmail.com & hotmail.co.uk. If you're currently on hotmail and getting this note, please resubscribe (drop an email to idm-subscribe@hyperreal.org) from another email host. Protonmail has a free tier and most domain name registrars offer email at your domain at a pretty affordable rate. I love technology. Have a good day! Brian
