Ditto on a lot of those.
Did anyone mention ghislain Poirier? "sous le mangier" and "il ny pas
de sud" are good sleep music, but definitely NOT "beats as politics".
Also:
keith f. Whitman - playthroughs
two lone swordsmen - the fifth mission (one of the discs, can't remember
which)
any of eno's ambient/instrumental stuff. the shutov assembly always put
me right to sleep, but one of the last tracks always woke me up with a
sound like someone whipping a rope through the air.
Pole, julee cruise, set fire to flames, for a while all sorts of
shoegaze stuff would work.
Good call whoever named lycia. The whole wall-of-sound with whispered
vocals did the job, as did, most of the projekt label and the
goth/ambient thing.
Sucks being an insomniac. At least there's plenty of music that'll work
as a sleep aid.
