A Big Hello from SA! Its pretty hard to get electro and IDM in South African Music shops, and when they do stock the likes of Armon Tobin, Aphex Twin, Bogdan Rezinski and Boards of Canada, we end up paying through our asses. Here, electro Albums are called "speciality items" so they slap a couple of zeros onto the price. You can imagine how happy I was to come across this forum. It's incredible to see so many people into IDM. Most musicians I know don't know what IDM is anyway. I'm currently putting a website together to shocase SA Electro music, should be finished by the 15th of March. Which reminds me, I'd love to here from any South Africans that may be on this list. Thanks to the webmasters for this truely wicked forum. Hello Paul from SA! I am Andrew from SA, insignificant no1-in-particular IDM/noise/glitch musician guy from Johannesburg, SA. I have two other relatively unknown IDM musician friends also in JHB, and we are shortly to begin combining our efforts into something resembling a big crazy IDM band! thing, yay! :D But apart from touring our shit around n that we would also like to be organizing some big IDM parties in Joburg (and maybe other places?) to try and generate some awareness of the genre and als0 just to have some parties in our hood that don't suck, for us to attend. ;o So, any other IDM types in the Joburg area (producers and listeners), would do well to get in touch with me regarding those, let me know who you are whatnot. :) Hey, umm (Paul) You can als0 get us gigz in Cape Town dood?
