Hi all, this is my first post... Please be patient for the syntax (I'm an italian idm lover). I'm just discovering all turns around Kompakt and the Koln minimal/dub techno scene and I think that this is very near of what we could call Intelligent Dance Music: Sender Trapez Katapultshit (best releases for me...) Salo Raum Treibstoff Force Inc. Any related underground/unknown links or suggestion/comments? The best in dub meets minimal techno that I've heard is the STUDIO 1 series of 12"s that Mink ink produced and released on Profan. Excellent stuff. I only have 5 of the 12"s and I think there is 11 or 12 of them. I've heard that Thomas Brinkmann released a DJ mix of the Studio 1 stuff. I'd like to hear that. I would also recommend Scion, Basic Channel, Anything on Chain Reaction, Porter Ricks, Monolake, Exos etc..... Nick

There's a cd that compiles tracks from the Studio 1 series, called "Studio 1" [studio1cd] out on the Studio 1 label. Thomas Brinkmann's remixes, "Studio 1 Variationen" [profancd2] is also excellent. There's a great resource for Berlin and Koln style stuff at http://www.circonium.de/music/index.html with complete discogs for all the Basic Channel / Chain Reaction projects, as well as a daunting Wolfgang Voigt discog that's really easy to navigate. I'd also like to recommend two of Ritchie Hawtin's projects : Plastikman and Concept 1 (of which Brinkmann also did a remix disc). i0 _________________________________________________________________ STOP MORE SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I think that the minimal dub techno scene from koln and berlin could be divided in two styles: -ambient/caustic/chill-out tracks -minimal/tech-house (as a dj I only love this one and I'm still searching for good vinyls) These are for me the best 12" Dub-Tekno releases ever: -highgrade (Tom Clark): ALL PROD -context: text001 text005 text006 text008 -festplatten: 001 002 004 006 014 015 -kanzleramt: 025 028 029 055 059 077 -raum: musik36 D.Diggler - sounds fiction "new" musik14 (2x12" Maxi / CD)-D.
