Is there a Com.a discography anywhere? I coulda swore I saw a full length cd from him once and about 6 months ago, but since then haven't been able to confirm that one even exists. I've got the split 12" on Fat Cat, and the compilation tracks on the Tigerbeat cds, and I'll be looking forward to the remix 12"s coming out sometime(?) on Zod. Anything else?

Com.A - Dream And Hope [Notekrec NTKRC-01 2001] that's a japanese record label as far as i remember. the music is very abstract and must have a tough stomac to be able to listen to that. :) bias. http://bias.underground.hu xpn-voice-added-contact:/dev/70/312/9708 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I don't know about this tough stomach bit.., It's a great record! Sure it get's a bit harsh, but that just means you gots to dance a bit harder! Also you should def get the zod re-issue of "we are the pervert", the original rules, and the new remixes are bound to kill it as well! Rock! DS

I'll have to second him on that one: tough stomach does not come to mind when I listen to com.a. He is rather melodic and appealing in most cases, though I will admit that his rhythem aspect gets a bit, eh, "metallic", especially in the first few tracks of dream and hope and his earlier demos. Most of the stuff on romz is fantastic, though I actually did not at all care for the remix cd "We are the pervert." As for the discog. someone asked for a bit earlier, here is a rough sketch: Albums: com.a - dream and hope com.a - shot of love (rmz006) [2002] Demo: com.a - comalogica com.a - [k]+[c] (several rougher versions of tracks on dream and hope) com.a - shove it up your fucking face (1 track demo cdr) Tracks: Estelle & Herve Show - Lets I Love You comp. [rmz-003] All the Young Puke - Lets I Love You comp. [rmz-003] HugLuvSuck [TB6] Hallucination Acid Lobot [TB6] Raider on Untitled, 12" (FatCat) Intelligent Deceitful Man on Untitled, 12" (FatCat) Radio Squelch Crush Land on Untitled, 12" (FatCat) Digital_ass_mix on $ Vol. 1, 7" (Tigerbeat6) Radio Squelch Crush Land on No Watches. No Maps, CD (FatCat) Pedophilia Robot on RND_0.34873349921, CD (PAUSE_2 Recordings) Octelo Gopod (Remix) on American Breakbeat: Rebuilt --- donna summer <donnasummerwfmu@hotmail.com> wrote:

Brandom Smith did mention it, but it's probably not clear: There's _two_ com.a albums on his own record label. "Dream And Hope" is on Notek, and "Shot of Love" is I guess on ROMZ, the new one... He and his brother Joseph Nothing have this hugely confusing multiple names and labels thing going on which makes it hard to keep track of everything... Those crazy Japanese ;) So much cool stuff from there at the moment (Donna Summer will jump up and down about Ove Naxx for instance - YEAH!!!) ROM=PARI, who had an album called "VIEW" on Sub Rosa years ago, is also these two in some combination. I _think_ most of it's com.a with some collabs with Joseph Nothing, but it could be the other way round. Can confirm if someone wants to know. Also missed so far in the discussion is the new Com.A + Datach'i contribution to KlangKrieg's "Connected" series of 12"s. One great track each plus a remix of each other's tracks. Nice melodic manic electronica as you'd expect. The Octelo Gopod (Remix) track from American Breakbeat: Rebuilt is his Electric Company remix which also appears on one of the "Greatest Hits" 12"s (ElecCo remixes, not greatest hits - Com.A not on the CD though!) AND also, there's Cex vs Com.A - Angels are There - Peeping mix on Tigerbeat6's "Fight Club" 12". I think this'd be Com.A remixing Cex, not the other way round. And don't forget the Duplo Remote / Com.A split 12" on Fat Cat, which has the track from "No Watches. No Maps". Com.A is great shit. I also don't think that "Dream And Hope" or the rest requires a strong stomach. It is quite manic a lot of the time, but also full of strong synth melody and harmony. Great stuff! Check http://www.romzrecord.com/ for a by-no-means complete discography from the man himself. Click through artists and Com.A. The new album, "Shot of Love", seems to be coming out on TB6 too, cool!
