Diego is a techno producer from the new guard releasing some glowing tracks under various names (Diego, Echelon Network, S&F, etc). first discovered his stuff a couple years ago on mp3.com where a GIANT cache of his early S&F tracks were downloadable. i too heard striking similarities to the BC/CR sound, i could have sworn there was some sampling going on. some of his harder techno tracks as Diego are marvelous (check out Thirsty Ear from the persuasion channel ep, or any number of songs from mouth full of fresh cut flowers album). He grafts dense melodies onto intricate beats producing these wonderful, dense pounding soundfields. The Shapes & Forms CD on K2o (http://www.k2o-records.com/ ) is short, but both powerful and diverse and showcases his talents nicely. n/p ps- i'm having problems sending to IDM list, you can forward this on to it for me if you like . . . ..... . . . . . .
