Anyone else feeling "Minesweeper Suite"? I think it's replaced Coldcuts JDJ as my favourite mix.... It is quite good, though it's tough to be objective about a disc like this...helps that Spooky's Charlie May helped out on production. Shit yes! He's everybit as good in person as he is on disk. Actually we recorded a mix session at WFMU just on Friday and he through down some seriously great stuff. listen to it here: http://www.wfmu.org/playlists/MX He's also done a live mix for my show Adv. Heh, not to be nit-picky, but I think we beat you to it. http://www.phoenixfest.com/lineup.html Lasi played 3 sets at Phoenix Fest in July. One on Thursday night to a crowd of 300, mostly non-IDMers and blew their socks right off. Then on Friday he and Machine Drum played several ambient sets for about 4 or 5 hours and then on Saturday he and Travis did a duo performance for about 90 minutes. Very nifty stuff. You should ask them about it when they are out there. Minesweeper Suite is definitely awesome. I'm suprised no one had mentioned it before...I like the Gold Teeth Thief mix a lot as well, but I think the new one on TB6 beats it. If you like dancehall or world music like me, you all should do whatever it takes to obtain his minesweeper suite mix! It's the most successful attempt I've ever heard of trying to blend world music & experimental electronic music period. Support DJ/Rupture!
