I'll give a double-amen to that. I got a pre-release copy of this from someone at the label and it is lovely, deep, soulful - just like the title implies. jeff --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

If you like the new Blackalicious album then DEFINITELY check out their older stuff...especially the old Solesides stuff and the collaborations with Lateef/Lyrics Born/Shadow/Quannum Projects, etc. I just hope that signing to a major won't kill their creativity...if Blazing Arrow is indicative of things to come then we have nothing to worry about... Who would think some of my favorite artists (Blackalicious, Lateef, Lyrics Born, etc.) would be mentioned on a list about my other favorite artists... rock. You can get a great collection of Quannum releases by picking up SoleSides Greatest Bumps (2 CD) for their old stuff, and Quannum Spectrum for a collection of the newer (2000ish) stuff. Now the question... can anyone recommend any more good hip hop along these lines? Something upbeat and not depressing (I get tired of "angry" hip hop) with good flow and rhymes... Let me know off-list if you feel it gets too far off topic. Although discussions/recommendations about bleepy hip hop also appreciated. I have a few Antipop Consortium releases although their flow isn't consistent enough for me to really get into them. Although I think I need to spend more time with the albums.
