Probably one of the best shows I've seen in a long time. After spending the previous week getting my after effects skills in order, this show comes along at the perfect moment. Truly astounding. This is exactly what we've been waiting for. The music and the live visuals combined perfectly to create an experience greater than the sum of its parts. excellent stuff...excellent. The laptop performance debate is now obsolete. More I'd like to say, but I'm just too hung over. Thanks to everyone who made it memorable, including that guy who offered me that wacky-tabacy. good times, good times. </ ------------------------- /> --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

That was indeed lovely. Bola's set is exactly what you would want to hear and the visuals were chilling. I was really glad that he didn't stray off into some weird territory where you couldn't recognize his songs. That's the beauty of Bola's music, there's a sort of pop lining there that can actually find you humming one of his songs in the shower, how many idm acts can say that? Forcasa came on pretty early n the set and it was nice to hear a loud communal roar for it. The visuals had everyone glued to the screen. What to expect from them? well a lot of it was like the album cover only completely a live. All of those weird fishy brainy things floating about with insect like feelers fluttering. The other parts are very cinematic and dreamy. The turn out was excellent as well, its really great to see a good turnout at an idm show, oddly enough most of the people on this list that you would think would make up the "usual suspects" at an idm show weren't there at all. There were a lot of people there that I have never seen before, very pleasant. And not that I care for this myself but it's a compliant I hear a lot "where are the girls at these shows!", well last night you could ask that question. And lets not forget Sky Tucker's excellent performance, it was all of the things you want out of a genre called "intelligent dance music", most of his songs were of the instant idm classic ilk. I can describe it as a combination of intricate arrangements layered with off kilter electro/Miami bass beats and that special "improvisational jazz" vibe that Sky doesn't really talk about but somehow laces everything he does with it. Unsigned genius that's all I have to say. Adesh http://www.recordcamp.com photos uploading next week. PS: John keeps it real!
