Hi -- I've downloaded Audiogalaxy, but have been slightly put off using it by the privacy statement in the installer: I don't mind watching (or ignoring) ads, but if it's installing multimedia plugins and somehow monitoring my surfing outside AG then that's a different matter! Of course, I realise that the statement may mention a wider range of privacy-related behaviours than are actually implemented by the adware in AG. So, how intrusive are the ads & related stuff in AG? Does it uninstall properly? Am I fretting unnecessarily? Audiogalaxy does install spyware onto your machine. It sucks and is very lame. You will get popups all the time if you are running the satellite and IE. Just go get ad-aware and run it right after install. It will delete any spyware you have. I have posted instructions for manually removing Gator (from Win2K, probably works on XP too; someone will have to try) at http://sarotti.org/gator/ - Mike ____________________________________________________________________________ mike j. brown | xml/xslt: http://skew.org/xml/ denver/boulder, colorado, usa | personal: http://hyperreal.org/~mike/ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
