From what I've heard, it's good, but sort of same-y. I've been a big Pan American fan after hearing the first album, but this is more of the same plodding microhouse stuff that's been the norm lately. Which is sad -- I was looking forward to it. Sounded pretty 'heavy' to me. Definitely a "try before you buy" release. Standard Kranky stuff. derek ------- eggytoast.com ------- with lather thingy --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Um.. I'd describe standard Kranky stuff as beatless drones made of repeating riffs under huge layers of echoes. Thinking of label owners Windy and Carl, plus Stars on the Lid, et al. I guess there's Loscil... Anyway, not trying to be a smart arse - thanks for your comments. I'm fairly certain that Windy & Carl do not own Kranky. Hmm.. yeah, a quick web search confirms it. When I first heard about Kranky (on the pure-impure mailing list) my memory is it was always "Windy & Carl's Kranky".. I guess that can be interpreted a few ways though (if I even remember it correctly). La la la..
