Barry Manilow is interviewed on the NPR Program Fresh Air today ... probably most of you recoil in horror at the thought of Manilow, and rightly so, but he said one really interesting thing -- he doesn't listen to contemporary pop music but says he really enjoys 'Electronica' -- the names he mentions are Groove Armada and Basement Jaxx. The other thing he likes is jazz. All in all an interesting interview. His music mostly bothers me and always has but you have to admire his ferocious talent for what he does ... and some of the stuff on his new album isn't half bad. This isn't the first time I've heard this. I read an interview with him a few years ago where he said that he liked Underworld and Fatboy Slim - and that was before either artist had really cracked through to the mainstream.
