a few weeks ago I got that untitled squarepusher vinyl. unfortunately, my technics is out a cartridge so I haven't listened to it. I'd had the live 'iceman' mp3 for a few months, but today, in desperation, I went to audiogalaxy and downloaded the untitled track on A1. this one is HOT haven't really seen too much discussion of it on list. did I miss something? and now, to bring the subject full circle, I say, if warp is releasing stuff like this, bravo. don't hate, reciprocate g. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

yes, bravo. wap155 is the definitive warp release from last year. whats strange is that it's quite poppy really (it should have been this one and not 'red hot car' on the top of the uk dance chart), with the vocals and the refrain and all. you just got to love those chirpy vocals though. you've got to hand it to mr. jenkinson, he's really good at renewing himself. looking forward to an album of this stuff. wasn't really into that 'go plastic' one. heard sume rumours that that squarepusher was ill, so it might be some time I guess. regards, urb --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

There was quite a lot of people talking about it when it came out (god, you are so like a few months ago :-). Yeah, it's wicked, I want more stuff like this! Hopefully this is what we can expect from him and RDJ's MEN label. Glenn Gabriel J. Weinstock wrote:

yeah, I joined the list and rapidly began starting threads that had just finished. I think I started the one about venetian snares next big thing and people were like, "we already discussed that." so, does mr. jenkinson have a new full length on the way? did we already talk about that? In writing it, I'm betting we did. shutting up now, gabe On Thursday 07 March 2002 09:02 am, Glenn McClements wrote:

Haven't heard anything about what he's up to, but I'm guessing his next album will be on MEN and not Warp. Him and RDJ were talking about putting up a website with loads of their unreleased tracks on it. Hopefully that will come to light as well. Glenn Gabriel J. Weinstock wrote:

the idea that wap155 is poppy always makes me chuckle now; mainly because that was my first thought too, 'man, he's really not giving a crap about "selling out", he'll just do his own thing.' then i played the track when in the vicinity of people who like actual pop music, and had all my visions of populist idm blown to peices. in my opinion the track in no way appeals to a mainstream audience. i couldn't care less either way, as the track is massive; but to describe it as 'poppy'... well, i just can't do it anymore. helix 'all i heard was static. i thought there was somethi...' 'that was my cd, it's called 'tron man stigmata'. i sampled static from a victrola, and processed the sounds.' 'okay... that's cool' _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
