Hello. The Headphone Science / Books on Tape show slated for Feb. 26th at B-Complex in Portland is off. Mimesis informed me today via mailing list that they will no longer be promoting Tuesday night events at this venue (see below) - including, much to our dismay, those already booked for this month. However, it appears that there is a possibility of a new Science/Books show occurring at the Blackbird on Sunday, February 24th, with at least Minmae joining forces with the Science Books posse. We may make our way into Washington as well if we can get things sorted out... Feel free to email me for more info or to book us for an event if interested. Since everything has fallen apart at a late date, any situation proposed, even one less than ideal, will be considered. Sincere apologies to anyone planning on attending the event on the 26th. Updates as news develops. Thanks to Mimesis for intending to have us and, Chris and Ariana, good luck with your events in the future. Science/Books will also be at the No Type West Coast CD Release party on the 23rd in Oakland, CA - see http://www.throat.org/abco for details. smiles -td. ---------- From: "Ariana Paulson" <graygirl@reed.edu> Date: Sat, 9 Feb 2002 10:44:48 -0800 To: "Todd Drootin" <todd@rollerderbysuperstar.com> Subject: Re: Tuesdays at B-Complex - *cancelled* I regret to inform you that Mimesis will _not_ be doing a Tuesday night weekly at the B-Complex. It doesn't seem financially possible at the moment, and we're already quite busy trying to get L'usine up here for a date in April and planning for the upcoming Phoenix Festival. Sorry for the late notice, for those of you who were going to play on the 12th! We had a poor turnout for the Machine Drum show, and lost some money. We realized that there isn't enough of a draw for this kind of music to make the club night economically viable. _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
