i was listening to confield this morning thinking how this stuff doesn't have any SOUL in it! none. im wondering why people would buy this garbage. it sounds nothing like the smooth sounds of anything on op-art or the recent detroit stuff, and in my book, thats quite bad.. THE NEW APHEX IS THE WHORST CRAP I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!! where are the nice sounds of saw2? i don't get where we're going these days with idm... i wanna know from most of ya... what is this shit we're buying? hK!!! over and ouT!!!!!!!

There is soul in there, but it's not anything with an obvious link to Sam and Dave. A sort of damaged machine soul.

Well I believe he samples saw2, does that count? But seriously, Aphex Twin basically abandoned the strategies he used on Saw 2 after that. If you're not down with what he's doing, just stock up on Moodyman. I happen to like Moodyman AND Aphex Twin, but that's just me. You can't expect to like everything every artist does. Tastes vary. And just for fun let's make fun of what you wrote: Is 'WHORST' intentional? If so it's a cool conflation of two words. And if you've only 'SEEN!!!'
