hmmmm, if it was in jest, then you have my apologies.......but whether a persons ideas/ideals agree with ours should not make them idots..... it should be a simple case of disagreement, with out a value judgement........ -----Original Message----- From: ugly and mean [mailto:ugly_and_mean@yahoo.com] Sent: Tuesday, September 25, 2001 4:53 PM To: Hackett, Kelly; IDM Subject: RE: [idm] Muslimgauze --- "Hackett, Kelly" <khackett@iupui.edu> wrote:

First of all, I'm not going to pretend that I'm *not* an idiot when it comes to politics and social causes. I've just observed over the years that a lot of really artistic people tend to have extreme views on subjects that they have a general understanding of, at best, because they approach politics irrationally and emotionally and seem to get stuck on smaller issues without taking the whole picture into account. It was obviously an extreme generalization and I actually meant it to be in good fun. It's really the biggest reason why I don't care if artists get behind a cause I don't agree with. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? My usage of the word "idiot" isn't supposed to be a judgement on the intelligence of the person I'm directing it to. It's often a word I use to fondly describe someone who is ridiculous. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
