I can understand this to some degree, though... Sometimes after following an artist for a while, you begin to concentrate more on his process than on his results. What interests me is the number of posts saying "if this is aphex, its crap", while (many of) those who think its not aphex seem to quite like it... personally, I think thought it was pretty shonky, some good(ish) dsp work but pretty lame musically. That being said, its just my taste... whether it's aphex releasing some bad material (and according to a lot of people, he's been doing worse than this...) or someone trying to get attention by sticking the name aphex twin on their track, its a bad thing either way. There's been a lot of this 'put (autechre remix) after your trackname' type stuff on napster to promote people's music, which is kinda lame, but makes sense marketing-wise... after all, how many people would never have heard marumari if not for the so-called 'boc-marumari' tracks? I suppose what I mean is, I don't mind so much, as long as its actually good. Oh, and if this does turn out to be aphex after all, I'm going to be laughing for a long time... Well, it would depend on how good it was... I do think it's pretty funny that everybody goes apeshit trying to get the scoop on a new release.
