Who is this guy? I bought 'Role Model' this weekend and it's wicked. What else has he (they? I can't tell if the picture on the cover of Role Model is of two people or one; looks like one) done? Secondly, what else is good from Tigerbeat6? Thirdly, do you really pronounce it "sex"? Cex is Rjyan Kidwell, who posts to IDM from time to time. Cex has a mp3.com web page full of nasty audio pranks, don't know about any other work by him. Don't know if that's his picture, but there's only one Cex. Cex's self-aggrandizing persona is a thing of beauty. Think William Shatner or Jerry Lewis egomania and you're partway there.

I've still not gotten a chance to hear any of the newer Cex releases but i have heard his first few releases from a few years ago on his own Underscore label. His first release was a full-length called Cells (get it - Cex Cells - funny man that ryjan) and then he released a remix 7" with Colongib on the Underscore sublabel called Shift-Minus. If either of these two releases are anything like his newer stuff then i'm probably missing out! Cex have any new releases on the horizon? I'm glad you asked, CATBOY. The year 3000 will bring a deluge of new Cex: Tigerbeat6 will release a 12" EP called "Oops, I Did It Again!", 555 Recordings will release an eight-track CDEP called "Starship Galactica", Reckankreuzungsklankewerkezeuge will release a different 12" EP called "Ghetto Love", and there will be a split 12" with Venetian Snares on the Klangkrieg label. If all goes to plan, these records will be all out hopefully before summertime and I will be very, very rich. -rk ps: the best Cex discography on the net would probably be the one at http://tigerbeat6.com/cex/c2disc.htm.
