Bobmlike got me into the toytronic label which I would have never even
heard about or found a record store by casual browsing.
Talking about that UK label Toytronic, following my posts on the great
Novel 23 I received a message from another UK label BENBECULA and i
thought you might want to read it. Before sharing this info i checked it
out and Roman Belousov/Novel 23 confirmed that it was a sad story... So
maybe Toytronic issue good-looking records but stealing songs is
definitely a bad attitude. It would be nice to read their version, and
in the meantime here's the message from :

hello
you may be interested to know (and perhaps to inform the list) that
the novel 23 track on the toytronic comp, was included without the
permission of either novel 23 nor benbecula records who officially
released it on "music volume one", in its entirity.
cheers
steven.

AND NOW the confirmation from NOVEL 23 :
Yes, it's a sad story. At the beginning of the year 2000 I had received
invitation to Toytronic compilation. I had sent 3 tracks to him, and
they
wrote me that they would use the first track. 2-3 month later I
received invitation from Steven (Benbecula records) about a track for
his compilation. I sent him 2 tracks that Toytronic hadn't used from
the demo. Steven selected the third track. As a result, when
Toytronic compilation was released, I saw that Martin (Gimmik) had
changed his mind and used another track. :(
I was very annoyed about it, because I had
already given this track to Benbecula records with an exclusive
property. It was late to change something, because Benbecula's master
disk of compilation was already sent to the plant. I know that Steven
was
disappointed at it, and Martin was in a philosophic mood about it.
Anyway,
it was not my mistake, but it has learned me to send a track demo for
compilations only to one label at the same time.
A good lesson that every musician among you should keep in mind, and I
have nothing against Toytronic but I think that bad attitudes have to be
kept in mind... When one does a label one has to be honest.
