FWD from pal:ndrom:
Polyfest 2000 Chicago EXPerimeNTL 9pm $7.00 21over The Empty Bottle 1035 n.
western ave, chicago
Casino vs. Japan (live) from milwaukee's impressive Wobblyhead label,
Casino makes a rare chicago appearance to create thick analog arrangements
of phat 4track beat structures with playful popsynth keyboard melodies.
similar to Boards of Canada or a less geeky Cylob.
pulseprogramming (live) expect another fine performance from these
hometown Aesthetics label heros. one of my favorite projects, pulse has
been perfecting a diverse range of soundz panning the ultra tonal/minimal
and idm/electropop spectrums. similar to a more melodic, less hip-hopish
Push Button Objects. pulse will also be incorporating an original video
piece, their set being it's score.
String Theory (live) with a forthcoming release on the prestigious Skam
label, these Chicagoians recently played a rock-solid show at PLAY.
String's music is a complex and highly attenuated concoction of finetuned
percussive sounds and engaging samples. Similar to Andrew Coleman. String
is playing with a super-8 film artist too.
Ken Waagner (spinnin) one of the local movement's originators, expect
nothing less than an aural education in what's been happening with
electronic music in the last 20 years...
Bob (spinnin) yours truly, i find happiness in helping things like this
happen. i'm not sure which style i may work in for this one... mostly
likely trip-hop tho i've been itching to assault with a rare
glitch/breakcore set...
