hello,
my first post got botched....
i thought "crumb duck" was okay. i think "simple headphone mind" is
superior, and that it sounds like more of a collaboration than crumb duck.
if you like stereolab, than like any other stereolab release you will not be
disappointed; they rarely stray too far from their usual sound (which has
changed very gradually over the years, but never drastically). if you lean
toward the nurse with wound end of things, you will get a lot more of the
stereolab sound than you bargained for, but it's still pretty good.
some of the nww tracks are from compilations, etc.... not all exclusive to
this release. the NWW "a new dress" track is excellent, btw, although i had
heard it previously on a compilation. one of the tracks sounds very much
like the strange middle portion of "jenny ondioline" on transient random
noise bursts by stereolab. are they in fact identical?
