i was reading off the capitol k website/message board that the new 'island
row' album will be released first on planet ? and then on XL. does anyone
have any confirmation of this, as it means it should be released
domestically in the US if i have my labels/distributors right...
second, after a three week period of not listening to thug's 'isolated
rhythm chock' i played it again today, and i'd have to say it's one of the
more standout releases i've purchased in the past three months or so. i
originally picked it up due to the references of aphex twin/boc etc. but, i
really think tim koch develops his own style/sound/compositinal feel on this
album rather than paralleling anyone else's. i think the closest thing i
could/would compare it to would not be in music, but album structure/theme,
in that it has that sort of 'lost, otherworldly' feel that aphex twin's
excellent '...i care because you do' had. it's good, of course that's
imo...
regards.
coma.
