If you haven't heard yet a judge in SF has issued an injunction against napster that basically says they have to turn the service off by Friday, 12am. More info can be found here: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/aponline/20000726/aponline211938_000.ht m I'm going to do everything I can as a citizen of the net who thinks this decision is wrong. So get all those downloads in now kids, cause Napster is going and it may never come back. PS learn to use Gnutella. I would hate to see what Napster has done for music fans disappear. love, gonzi. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Here's some of the imminent fallout you can expect: * Far superior albeit decentralized Napster knockoffs will be readily available, citing the "The best way to get anything done on the net is to make it illegal" corollary. * The RIAA's web site and network will be hacked to shit. Get out the 3-D glasses, sit back, pop a can of Tecate, and enjoy the results.. ======================================================================= Brian MacDonald <brianm@kuci.org> KUCI 88.9 fM in Irvine, CA -- Orange County ======================================================================= On Wed, 26 Jul 2000, Gonzi 'Fresh' Merchan wrote:
