Did anyone else catch Tomas Jirku's release "variants" on alien8? (ALIENTCD23) This guy bears watching if you're into mildly dubby, minimal beats. Denizens of www.notype.com will be familiar with him. This release hangs together pretty well, though at a couple of points the transitions seem inappropriate, or the beats are unmatched to no apparent end. But those are minor problems; I enjoyed it. What do you folks think of it? -Ed --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I didnt hear his album yet but i heard the guy play live at Mutek and I think it was pretty interesting. Simple and efficient. I didnt really liked the transitions in his set and now your saying its the same thing on its album... thats a lil bit too bad as I am very demanding on a record evolution/story. I still believe that one of the best for its transition is Hakan Lidbo. A good reference even if (to me) its not IDMish. I will buy it to support the kid. Ed: I agree that it is very enjoyable. And thanks for making a post about *music*; much appreciated considering how most of the posts lately on IDM have been about everything but. Andrew Duke Ed Hall wrote:
