What's with this fucking condescending genre label anyway? I listen to what's deemed "intelligent" music, therefore I am? You can't get much more oxymoronic than this term IDM. Do you really need it to feel like you're part of a scene, esp. one full of self-proclaimed smart people? ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I'm going to answer you just as though it was a reasonable question. You're taking it a bit to literally -- the mailing list was named by Alan Parry a long time ago, when it seemed apt to him. Since then we're stuck with it. It's not a offshoot of Mensa. I, for one, would prefer a more neutral term like Electronic Listening Music, to distinguish it from pure DJ tools. And as for scenesterism, face it man: everyone's looking for a place to belong in this world. I might suggest that flame trolls can't really ever belong -- they're always going to be sniping from the margins. Why do you always try and piss people off? --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Do you have anything better to do than sit around anxiously awaiting the next IDM post? as far as i'm concerned, anyone with who takes this shit personally and has enough free time to reply to my banter can consider themselves a troll. People want to complain and hear this shit. If it weren't for me, most of the list couldn't strut their self-righteous stuff.

And if you were gay this could be Chinese finger cuffs, but in a whole different sense of the word. Since we're being all p.c. around here - should that be asian finger cuffs? chris np - b12 "time tourist"
