Ciao - Any comments on Tosca's records? I only knew F**k Dub until recently. However, heard a lovely Tosca track in a pub last night, with a bit of bossa nova vocal vibe. Could hardly make out the vox in the din, so no title catch. 3 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

As has been written on IDM before, Tosca is one half of Kruder & Dorfmeister (Richard Dorfmeister paired here with Rupert Huber). Their previous album was called "Opera" and their most recent is Suzuki. Suzuki, imo, is far better than Opera, more substance to it. Although I truly LOVED it when I originally bought it, after a few listens, it paled due to lack of complexity, and it's now gathering dust in a pile. It's pleasant enough in an unchallenging manner; makes for excellent Sunday morning music or whenever you want to relax gently. I pulled out "Busenfreund" onto a comp. which I take along to play out. As an album it's slick and smooth and excellently produced. Djslacker227@aol.com wrote:

K&D's G_Stone label puts out great quality stuff - hard to find EP's like Kieser.Velten & Walkner.Moestl are things I'd highly recommend. Thievery Corporation "Abductions and Reconstructions" & their !K7 DJ Kicks album. Mashed Mellow Grooves (Transient '98) Shadow Masters (Shadow) - compilation series Fila Brazillia - A Touch of Cloth Sensorama "Love" DJ Food "Kaleidoscope" Just a handful from the top of my head - maybe not all of these fall into the category you're looking for, but certainly all worth a try. I have toscas new album. suzuki, and i listen to it quite frequently. Ive always loved kruder & dorfmeister (richard d. and rupert hubert is tosca), and tosca is a little different than most of K&D's stuff. It seems to be a little more jazz influenced, which i always like. Sorry the only track that i can think of on suzuki that has vocals is "Honey". The album establishes a nice summertime groove and i highly reccomend that you get it. The highlights include "bass on the boat" and "ocean beat" Tosca has one other full length that i know of, and im pretty sure its called opera, and i have yet to hear any other tracks off that besides fuck dub. As long as im on the downtempo topic, does anyone have any good suggestions? --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

hi there, tosca have released four albums. albums with original material: - opera (debut album, released 97 i think) - suzuki (released this year) albums with remixes: - fuck dub - chocolate elvis the remixes have been released on numerous 12"s, i think 4 12"s per album. there's also a couple of compilations with exclusive tosca material (freezone, some ninja tune comp etc). if you've got all those i recommend (besides the kruder & dorf material which is brilliant -- all of it) you to get the peace orchestra album released last year on g-stone. peace orch is peter kruder solo. the regular downtempo dub with some vocal bits. real good. cheers for now franz http://gargamel.com/frankie -- WHEN DOGMA ENTERS THE BRAIN, ALL INTELLECTUAL ACTIVITY CEASES. - Robert Anton Wilson --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
