been putting together a group with the idea of playing dnb live with regular instruments. saw it done here (nyc) once, na dnever again. so we had a first run last night, on stage, with no rehersals and it felt damn good. a little more acid rock than i might have liked, but the kids im working with are rock musicians. line up: gtr (lots of effects) bass (lots of effects) theremin (lots of effects) keys (lots of effects) drums drum machines (lots of effects) if people in nyc are doing anything (djing and all) and i know you're out there, im looking to set up colaborations, features, and ultimately nights of this sort of nonsense. let me know if you're intersted. thanks. corey -- ---------------------- Corey H Maass Secret Agent Gel Prod http://www.secretagentgel.com 5 St. Nicholas Terr Apt 33 New York, NY 10027 (646)228.5048 -- --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Funny you should mention this... a good friend of mine is in a band called Si Se out of NYC. They're in the process of recording their first album for David Byrne's Luaka Bop label. Now, I haven't heard them yet (begged for tapes as I have), but I'm pretty sure they're in the dn'b w/ live instruments realm, yet they still use some electronics. DJ Carol C. adds some spanish-flavored lyrics to the mix. My friend plays viola and bass guitar, I believe... They're actually playing here in Chicago tonight, so I'll have a better description in a few hours :) I'm also attempting my first MiniDisc live recording session, so we'll see how it goes... btw, for anyone in Chicago that's interested... it's at Joe's on Weed St. 9pm sharp. -Andrew --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Did I miss a review of this? If I did, sorry for the redundant post. But, I'd love to hear how this went. -matT --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
