Yo- Time for some hardcore self-promotional whoring. The new codec discs are in from the pressing plant and I must say that they look and sound quite phat. I can brag and all because to be quite honest, most of the work was done by the remixers. They are going to be available within the next couple of days from: saftey in numbers skimo outward music metropolis records amazon.com and a batch of others Component Records proudly anounces its second release: amalgamation by codec and a host of brilliant remixers. The concept is simple, have a batch of artists take the tracks off of codec's 'fragments'(com-101) and allow them to remix, reprocess and reinterpret the source material. Participants this genre defying experiment include Solenoid, Proem, Ocone, Adrien75, Xyn, Gasr, Tripform, Arvidium, AEC, Thug, LogiQ, Octopus Inc. and Zammuto. The mixes range from the splinterend IDM beats of Proem and Ocone, to the post-junglisms of Xyn, Zammuto and Tripform, all the way to the ebm-dance of AEC. The mixers have been able to capture the essence of the original codec tracks and meld it with their own unique musical visions. They are also available direct for $15 postpaid Rob component records box 783,somers, ct. 06071 www.mindstorm.com/component
