I'm trying to burn a CD from the "Hangable Auto Bulb" mp3s which were up on the bleepbloop ftp site ages ago. Although the second track plays fine as an mp3, my mp3->aiff convertor (MPecker 1.6.4) chokes on it. Has anyone else come across this problem (and, ideally, solved it)? I've been unable to find any other freeware/shareware convertors for MacOS, and I can't easily transfer the file to a PC for conversion there. Short of trying to hack whatever weirdness is causing this out of the mp3 file :-( I'm a bit stumped. (ISTR I downloaded another copy of the mp3 & it exhibited the same problem.) SoundApp should do the trick... File -> Convert http://www-cs-students.stanford.edu/~franke/SoundApp/ Also, Adaptec Toast will burn an audio cd direct from mp3s.
