Hello. Could anyone provide me with tracklisting and possibly times for BLECH tape compilation (WARPMC40, not the second one on CD)? Can't find any info about it on Warp-net. Mail me off-list, thank you very much in advance. Hello. Thanks a lot to all the people who helped me with tracklisting! On the same note, i was listening to that mix today and there is a quite funny sample from old sci-fi movie in the middle of the side A. It's a conversation between a man and a talking .... bomb (it's only purpose is "to explode, of course" and destroy Earth or even The Universe). So i was wondering, where it's from? I'm sure it's a classic movie, but somehow i've managed to miss it ;) With best regards, Dmitry 23.05.2000 / 0:30 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

hmmm. . .sounds like from "Dark Star" by John Carpenter. made c. 1974. it's his student film. and you're right, it's very classic. three guys bored in space blowing up planets with bombs who talk. plus there's an asteroid/electrical storm, a chase scene with a tomato-pincushion-looking alien, homemade keyboard instruments (footage added later to put bulk on the rather short film) and one of the best existential endings in a movie ever. i've seen it too damn many times and it's never gotten old. Meat Beat Manifesto sampled the hell out of "Dark Star" all over Satyricon. There's one more track between LFO and Polygon Window, it's Aphex Twin "Ventolin" (Asthma Beats mix) Nick. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Supposedly it came as a freebie along with volume 1 / issue #9 of _Wax_ magazine, and was co-sponsored by Grolsch. Also, could someone provide me with nice scans of the sleeves for the [proper] cassette and lp releases? Not sure, but I don't think Blech was released other than on cassette. Also, I'm fairly certain those track times should be taken with a grain of salt as there aren't any on the tape itself ....editorial judgment in mixtape tracks can be subjective. :-) jeff Christopher Miller wrote:

Yeah, it's true, those are very rough track times, they come from a cleaned up version of the tape that was broken up roughly into tracks for convenience and cut to cd. Just as well cos cutting it all to one track would have resulted in a very annoying cd. I have a Terminal Cheesecake album like that, it's very frustrating when you want to hear a particular song.
