Hasn't Timbaland produced a tune on Rawkus recently? :-) Still, I'd agree for the most part. As a general rule, it seems to me that the influence of that kind of production sneaks through into IDM more than say the production of your average Rawkus release. Does anyone else hear it a lot in more recent Luke Vibert, eg. Wagon Christ's 'Tally Ho'? I do have to say that a lot of posts suggesting things to listen to seem to have equated "good" with "inventive". I love the J5, but don't think they're inventive at all. Well, they invent good music, but they don't invent new sounds or approaches, IMO. Maybe people need to accept that this doesn't detract from the music in any way?
