www.belief-systems.com Let me just say that this compilation has already hit the mighty TOP COMP'S list of 2000 (for me)! With remix artist's such as Matmos, Phoenecia, Mannequin Lung (of whom i REALLY need to find more of..), Jake Mandell, Stewart Walker, Kit Clayton, Safety Scissors amongst others, i'm sure we'll be hearing more about this fine compilation as soon it sees its release date of July 2000. With the names listed above, you can clearly see that this remix compilation spans through techno, glitch, ambience, electro hip-hop, and other jaw-dropping genre's. Just thought i'd mention this briefly as i think it'll be an instant favorite/classic.. Pietro. ___________________________________________ p i e t r o d a s a c c o a u d i o - n i m b u s c j a m 91.5 fm saturdays from midnight - 2am EST 9745 lynngrove cr, windsor, ontario, n8r 1b8, canada g r o o v e s m a g a z i n e www.groovesmag.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Actually I have to disagree with Pietro on this one. I was somewhat underwhelmed by this release considering the artists and remixers involved. i've listened to this one begining to end several times without any of the tracks really standing out. The mixes range in style from glitchy electronica (Matmos) to dubby idm (Phoenicia, Timeblind, & Scorn) to dark abstract techno (Mannequin Lung, Jake Mandell, Stewart Walker, Kit Clayton, and Safety Scissors). It's not that these mixes are bad by any means, in fact i'll probably play a few of them out/on inaudible, it's just that none of them stand out as exceptional. At this point I feel this album pales in comparison to the original Deadpan Escapement release as well as other recent Sutekh and Twerk productions. Maybe it's a grower. I suggest giving this one a listen first before you buy. -->-Lance--- lance@inaudible.com p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Sweet, i actually was going to say i recently picked up schematic's "lilly of the valley" (and a few other things), and i'm looking for things in a tangential domain - weirdo electro/melodic/ambient, noisy atmosphere... Sounds like something i'll probably check out. Any other recommends. - cutups -----Original Message----- From: p i e t r o <mbm@netcore.ca> To: idm@hyperreal.org <idm@hyperreal.org> Cc: minimalism@onelist.com <minimalism@onelist.com> Date: Tuesday, May 30, 2000 1:13 AM Subject: [idm] Context :: Deadpan Escapement:Reconstructed [']
