Don't forget about the new one coming off of Hefty by Slicker called "Remixes." Featuring tracks remixed by Super ESP, Matmos, Mice Parade, Savath + Savales and Delarosa & Asora, and a collaboration bewteen Delarosa & Devine. Really nice stuff. Has anyone else heard this? What are your thoughts? Just in case your not down with it, I suggest picking up a copy of this cd, exellent stuff. very warm and melodic with intesting defects built into the music. This is a major plus for music on this side of the atlantic. Check it out, you wont be sad you did. This is great for anyone looking for something with some glitch and soul. _______________________________________________________ Get 100% FREE Internet Access powered by Excite Visit http://freelane.excite.com/freeisp --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I liked this one quite a bit -- here's the review I wrote for http://allmusic.com/... This six-track remix album reassembles Slicker's {^Confidence in Duber} via the post-production of an assortment of post-rock/electronica figures, most notably Richard Devine, Casey Rice (aka Super ESP), and Matmos. The disc opens with Devine's contribution, an intricately programmed homage to Mouse on Mars and Autechre executed with help from partner Sherren. Next comes Casey Rice's Super ESP remix, a lo-fi drum'n'bass number using a variety of extraneous audio trash cut'n'pasted into a highly original production. Among considerable competition, San Francisco's Matmos contributes the highlight; their remix is also heavy on the cut'n'paste, but with various sections shifting from a focus on old-school drums and vocal samples to white noise to tabla drumming and surprisingly deep trip-hop grooves. Thanks to a great roster of remixers, Slicker's {^Remixes} arguably bests the album it's sourced from. ~ John Bush .John. Select-a-disc had a note on the savath+savalas CD saying they'd signed to WARP? Anyone know about that? Rumour or true? I'm also enjoying the Mum album a lot at the moment. It is true. Scott Herren (aka Savath + Savales, Delarosa & Asora) is signed to Warp Records but under the moniker name Prefuse 73. Be on the lookout for that.
