Hello, Does anyone know which early Breakin' Records release featured a track that used samples from older video games (Defender and Galaga or Centipede maybe?). I suspect it's the Computor(sic) Rockers, but the website didn't confirm that. Thanks in advance! frank st. jacques also, if anyone could point me towards an online resource for new beat, please contact me offlist. Thanks! ____________________________________________________________________ Get free email and a permanent address at http://www.netaddress.com/?N=1 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I just Mp3ed that sucka. It's "Galaxy Defenders" off the same titled CD by Computor Rockers (It's also one of four tracks on a Computor Rockers 12").. The video game in question is Galaga. Unfortunately, it's the only fun thing on that disc, and that's saying something given the cool if not one-dimensional novelty value of it. I was hoping for the rest of the album to be similar takes on other classic video game theme music.. but all we get is cheesy booty bass via Kraftwerk (and I don't mean cheesy in a good way.) and some gratuitous sound samplings of someone playing Pengo and Burgertime... which is cool if you're too lazy to dump those sounds to file yourself from a typical MAME session. At least it's all better than G.D. Deluxxe... Like Yeah. Go DXM Krew! Ur, DMX, that is... ======================================================================= Brian MacDonald <brianm@kuci.org> KUCI 88.9 fM in Irvine, CA -- Orange County ======================================================================= On 16 May 2000, Frank St.Jacques wrote:
