you're going to have to find the purpose on your own, but i'd recommend a start by buying pink floyd's "relics" from 1971. the original "Cirrus Minor" is on this cd, which is packed with innovation. thank you all. today i have been educated. just the sort of answers i was looking for.... and apologies for using the term "horrible" when describing someones music - it disturbed me at work and i simply had to get some answers! anyhow as the man himself put it: "i like the way it turned out, very simple. i was going to fade it out but then i realized it's a nice note to end the cd on. it's on there, unedited. i enjoy listening to it."
