Snivilization is definately the most experimental album they have done...
for fans only. The thing I love about the Hartnoll bros is they always
manage to sound different from everything else that is out there... thank
gawd. With the tripe being produced today, its nice to listen to dance
music you can feel... you realize there is genuine talent behind the sound.
Middle of Nowhere doesnt lack in originality... but it is slightly more
dance-friendly than Sniv and In Sides. Thats the first thing you notice.
The album continues the emotion that Orbital is famous for... some people
say its 'soundtracky'... but I think its just damn good listening.
The brown and yellow albums will always be classic... they will never
produce another Chime, Halcyon or Lush. But, if you follow their music
career from beginning to end... you begin to understand that they have
always tried to expand their understanding of sound and rhythm. I'm all
for artists who go beyond their roots and try to take on new challenges.
So, in my opinion, no Orbital album is a waste of money. Buy them all.
Thats my 2cents.
