just wondering what the sutekh-periods make sense disc sounds like. i like the track on clicks & cuts. is this pretty indicative of the new cd? i thought it might be a little more techno oriented since it's on force inc. rather than mille plateaux. thanks ---------------------------------------------- D is for Desond thrown out of a sleigh ---------------------------------------------- bruce levenstein bruceLev@mindspring.com ---------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Let me start this off by saying that Sutekh's new Periods Make Sense album is absolutely phenomenal. It will likely be in my top 5 releases of 2000. Sutekh's track on the Clicks_+_Cuts comp is indicitave of the new album in several ways. First off, it's light experimental style is similar of several of the tracks on the album but moreso, the warm spacious feel of the track is prevalent thoughout the entire album either by itself or under various percussive elements. To me, Periods Make Sense is the most sophisticated release to date in regards to the fusion of deep textural atmospheres, minimal rhythmic structures, microscopic sound effects, clicks and glitches. Imagine what a collaboration of SND, Dettinger, Vladislav Delay, Shuttle358, and Gramm/Farben would sound like and you have an idea of what Sutekh has accomplished. Yes it is on Force Inc but it's hard to call it a techno record but yet parts of it are too percussive to be on Mille Plateaux. Regardless of label, I confidently call Periods Make Sense a "fabulous record." And his recent Miasma 12" also on Force Inc is very good as well although a little more floor-friendly than Periods Make Sense. -->-Lance--- lance@inaudible.com p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
