Just had to laugh this morning: Here in South Africa there is a chain of stores called "Edgars" and while standing in the queue to pay for sunscreen I saw an enormous wall-mounted poster announcing: LIFT OFF TO PLANET E (This was advertising their Kiddies Club, with a Tintin-type rocket on the picture.) Visions of Carl Craig (and never mind the other 'e') sprang to mind and quite uncontrollably a large smile spread across my face..... Sorry for babbling and adding 'surface noise' ;-) I * "Incomplete without surface noise" - Autechre

Ok, here's the poop Planet E (one of my favorite Detroit labels)... There are two Planet E comps both of which are great: . Elements of and Experiments with Sound comp cd/2x12" (Planet E) w/ tracks by Flexitone (Ectomorph), The Connection Machine, The 4th Wave, Enhanced (Todd Sines), Paperclip People, Maurizio, Mode Selector (Fanon Flowers), and Urban Tribe. . Intergalactic Beats cd/3x12" (Planet E) w/ tracks by Carl Craig, Balil, Dark Comedy (Kenny Larkin), Eevolute (Stefan Robbers), Future/Past & Esoterik (Kirk Degiorgio). All the PE albums are "must haves:" . Carl Craig: More Songs About Food & Revolutionary Art cd/2x12" (Planet E) . Psyche/BFC: Elements 1989-1990 cd/2x12" (Planet E) . Paperclip People: The Secret Tapes of Dr. Eich cd (Planet E) . 69: The Sound of Music cd (Planet E/R&S) There are so many PE 12"s worth getting but here are the "must haves:" . The 4th Wave: Touched 12" (Planet E) . The Connection Machine: Bitflower 12" (Planet E) . Quadrant: Infinition 12" (Planet E) . Paperclip People: Remake 12" (Planet E) w/ a breathtaking Basic Channel remix . 69: Sound On Sound 12" (Planet E) . 69: Lite Music 12" (Planet E) . Chaz Vincent: Dream Zenith 12" (Planet E) . Moodyman: Bosconi 12" (Planet E) . Piece: Free Your Mind 12" (Planet E) . Eevolute: A Touch Of Heaven 12" (Planet E) . A.R.T. 1 comp 12" (Planet E) -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states

The Clark Lofthouse release is an excellent 7-track double ep of hard grooving detroit-esque techno by ½ of LFO, Mark Bell. So it basically is a full-length. -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states
