Relais : 1336 CD Aardvarck : Non Spoken 12" E*Vax : A Cross Country Ski 7" EAR #7 Magazine Relais : 1336 CD (decode) I had heard reviews of this CD as being similar to the old Likemind, Art material, and I guess in some ways there are similarities between the two. This is quite a mixed CD with some almost ambient tracks and other beat lead numbers. All the tracks are full of lush swirling atmospherics, and several have those Detroit-esque beats (which would keep Mr.Hackett amused), that others have mentioned. All in all this CD is quite a pleasure to listen too, a worhty purchase. (www.decode.de) Aardvarck : Non Spoken 12" (Delsin) As usual deslin serve up an excellent slice of electronics, with deep techno leanings.. This 12" has five cuts, that sound modern but have throws back to the past... nice stuff.. (www.delsin.org) E*Vax : A Cross Country Ski 7" (Static Caravan) Birmingham's Static Caravan label return with US artist E*Vax ,on this 2 track 7". This the second single from E*Vax, the first being on the US label ADR, and this 7" carries on for where that left off. The E*Vax sound is essense similar to that of ISAN, or Piano Magic, that is analog sounds and melodies. A nice pair of tracks, with some nice touches to the packaging. E*Vax has an forthcoming album on Morr Music. (ADR: www.audiodregs.com) EAR #7 Magazine Also picked up a copy of EAR, the French free IDM related magazine the other day. This magazine (which is limited to 400 copies) has some great interviews with Din, Carpet Bomb, Funkstorung (including stuff on the MaS/Skam fall out :), Vendor Refill and a hold host of great little reviews. Well worth checking out if you can find it... also if you are interested there is an address for subscription, but rather than post it out to IDM send me a mail and I will pass the details on.
