no, i dont think destroying the MCs flow was intentional. they didn't DSP the vox at all. they didnt cut it up a la their Wu-Tang remix. they just had MCs rap over really noisy, klanging F'ng beats and it sounds like a mess. i think what they DID do intentionally was attempt to be hip by having an MC rap over a track they made.

have you ever seen the episode of Perfect Strangers where Balkey becomes a famous rapper? If you liked that, this isn't that far off conceptually. -rk --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

actually, im with kidwell...i heard a promo of the funkstorung full length a few days ago and thought that almost ever track was complete and utter shit... i personally also think that they haven't released anything half decent in about a year... except for post art, and that originally came out over a year ago... either way, it's almost painful listening to the tracks with MCs because there's absolutely no flow, nothing gels... where as the wutang remix they did was nice because they dsp-ed the vocals to all hell, and made the rhythms adjust to the vocal dsp fuckery... either way... i didn't like it... but then i also didn't like the fakesch full length all that much either, the melodies were way too low in the mix, and the tracks all started sounding the same.... and it didn't help that i had gotten some funckarma 12"s at the same time, and compared to funckarma, there isn't much that's gonna out do that... oh, and about perfect strangers, kidwell right on with the comparison. but he failed to add one very important aspect of the whole thing, that balkey was not balkey in that episode, he Fresh Young Balkey B. oh, and about the Good Ol Days, i was there. things were much simpler then. less artists, less labels, less "throwaway idm", and less listmembers. that's pretty much all im going say about that. oh, and brock #1 !! :) back to the toner pit. -kiya i am a copier. we are not all copiers. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
