I've got a deal lined up with a guy named Scott Cullun, at a PO Box in San Antonio. Maybe I'm being paranoid, but the phonetic simularities between the names are uncanny. I can't find a Scott Cullun in the San Antonio phone book, so I'm feeling suspicious. Can anybody vouch for this guy? I'm not making any accusations, just trying to clear the air - I'm kind of scared to deal with anyone in San Antonio right now, which is another reason for the San Antonio IDMers to pay Jason a visit to straighten him out. BTW, there's a Gene O Mccollum at 501 Paseo Canada St, San Antonio, TX 78232-1112, (210) 496-1547 Perhaps this is Jason's parental unit. I suggest the aggrieved parties call repeatedly in the middle of the night until they get satisfaction. Thanks Che

No, I can not vouch for him and I will tell you why: Five weeks ago I sent Scott Cullun (spaceinvaders@hotmail.com) money in trade for a CD that I have not yet received. I recently asked him about it and he said that he sent the CD to me three weeks ago... it must have been 'lost in the mail'. I was willing to leave it at that, sometimes these things do happen. I asked him to enquire about the parcel at his post office, but since it was not insured, I was doubtful that they could do anything about it. Then I read Che's above post and then started to do some research. Here is what I found and here is why I am suspicious: 1) The name Cullun looks a lot like McCullum. McCullum was the person who, a few months ago, ripped a few of the members of the IDM list off by saying that shipments were lost in the mail... etc. You all remember. 2) Both Scott Cullun and Jason McCullum have mailing addresses in San Antonio Texas. Cullun is at a PO Box. 3) There is no Cullun in the San Antonio phone book. 4) Scott Cullun insisted that I send him cash because he said that he lost his wallet and therefore could not cash a check (very convenient for someone who is not who they say they are). 5) Scott Cullun's email address is with hotmail.com, a free web-based email provider. All you need is a name and web access to get an email account with hotmail. 6) Searching through the IDM list archives I found Jason McCullum's *LAST* post to the IDM list dated 6 May, in which he pretends to be his own roommate. --begin quote-- cmac@txdirect.net on May 6 1997 wrote:

--end quote-- 7) Scott Cullun's *FIRST* post to the IDM list was on 7 May. Is this ironic? --begin quote-- spaceinvaders@hotmail.com on May 7 1997 wrote:

--end quote-- 8) There is also a Jason McCullum registered for an email account with hotmail.com. His email address is gescom@hotmail.com (gescom? sounds like an Autechre fan to me). Given Jason McCullum's tendency to portray himself as somebody he is not and all these other reasons, I have come to the conclusion that Scott Cullun is in fact Jason McCullum. I believe that I have been ripped off. I have done many trades over the net in the last few years and this is the first time I have ever had any trouble. I do not think that I will be doing any more trades with anybody in San Antonio in the near future. Please people, be careful out there. Thanks for listening, Hess P.S. Jason/Scott if you are listening, you still have my address. -/\= Hess M. Hodge ~/\ hess.hodge@colorado.edu (/\) http://stap.colorado.edu/~hodge
