in re: From: john/bergmayer <yesno@primenet.com> Subject: (idm) these albums severed heads: dead eyes opened chris and cosey: trance Both CDs have come out but I don't know of them being *in print* and I would doubt it unless they went to cut-out status and some discounter got them. This is quite possible. The*song* "Dead Eyes Opened can be checked out on the CD issue of "Come visit the Big Bigot/ Dead Eyes Opened" which is a 70+ minute Severed Heads collection of the mentioned LP and EP title. The label is Nettwerk , dated 84/85. The Song "Dead Eyes Opened" can also be found on "Since the accident" on Ink records, France. Both the CD and the LP issue of this is super tough to find. Good luck. While on the subject of Severed Heads, I'm sure *someone* out there has info on the Severed Heads DUB (?????!!!!!) LP? Supposedly this came out in super rare release and is a mindblowing and incredible LP? I am pretty hip to their releases and own what could be considered *rare* pieces. I still can't figger out nothin' about a DUB LP. Given my liking for the bizarre and fucked up nature of Ellard's production, I'm sure to love it. Any word out there? I will pay a pretty penny to buy it and a humble penny to get a tape. In regards to Chris and Cosey, "Trance" has also been released. In the early nineties ( late eighties?) C+C were re-released by Wax Trax. There *were* both LP and CD versions of these re-issues , though suprisingly few places sell it. Its also funny, I seem to see more vinyl of this than CD (???)Anyways, the re-issue on Wax Trax was quite well done, releasing at least the first four C+C LPs.There may have been more but I don't remember. Yes, "Trance" is often the one C+C album where fans who finally hear it after first hearing their relatively sucessful and accesible pop LPs get to experience a C+C that is actually quite (taking a leap here) experimental? If you like this (their 2nd LP) and also want to avoid the later period beat box /synth sex music, check out their first album : Heartbeat, which includes one of the most frightening songs they*ever* did: "Put yourself in Los Angeles". And if you're interested in darker ambient stuff: check out the CTI , Library of Sound series, pretty creepy stuff and generally free of dance floor maneuvering. np: PIL, "Metal Box" bpm0@interport.net, Peter Becker Retail Sales manager, DJ Pool, Asphodel records, NYC Phone: (212) 965-0265 FAX: (212) 965-0959 http://www.asphodel.com

Depends on which version you're after. The song has been available in several different mixes & versions: - Original album version on "Since The Accident". Released on CD in 1990 by Nettwerk. Dunno if it's still in print. Check http://www.nettwerk.com. They have mail order service. - Long version of the one above. Released on the Dead Eyes Opened 12" by Volition and Ink. Available on the 1988 singles compilation Bulkhead, on Nettwerk. - Remix, alternately called the "American version", "Remix three", or "Dead eyes open". Appeared on the Australian version of the Stretcher LP, the Dead Eyes Opened mini album on Nettwerk, and the Come Visit The Big Bigot CD, also on Nettwerk, in 1986. - Four new house remixes ("radio edit", "Re-opened", "The love experiment", and "Spooked") from 1994, released as single CD in Australia by Volition (which also includes the original version). The original version is the best IMO; the 1994 remixes are a bit pointless, but not really bad.
