I agree, it really surprised me -and I guess it still does- that so many IDM-ers come from an 'industrial' music background instead of a 'dance' music background. For me, it started with funk, disco, soul, hiphop etc. (Dutch people will know what I mean when I say: 'Ferry Maat') That soon became house/techno and well, the rest is history as they say. Funny that two musical genres so different should meet in IDM-land :) Otto
