Having just listened to both discs, I agree that Auntie Aubrey sounds like it's mono except Material 'Praying Mantra' and Primal Scream 'Higher than the Sun', which are both definitely stereo. Some other tracks (e.g. Love Kittens) it's hard to tell with these discman 'phones. So is there any good reason why it would be mono, other than someone screwing up? Some licensing conditions or something? Whatever the reason, it's a bummer Paddy ;;, | Paddy Grove, \\ .;(((((c. Wir's "So and slow it grows" was mastered/mixed/whatever so loud that some of the guitar actually distorts. And somewhere around 2 minutes into the song, when the beat comes back in, it sounds like there's another copy running out of sync for a couple of bars (which is definitely not the case on the original). Amateurs. Maarten on now: Nonplace Urban Field (but not for much longer)

*sigh*... Back to trying to fill the holes in my collection. Maybe we should remaster these CD's ourselves. After all, if you own Auntie Aubrey, you own the rights to have a backup, or in some cases, a stereo remastered version of the original. I don't understand how they could have screwed up the Wir track. I've got the CD single of this. Drag and drop!
