insync vs. mysteron - "planetarium" 12" (tenth planet, uk) a - "planetarium" b - "white plains"; "'r' future" i know it's been out for a long time, relatively speaking, but this record real ly does it for me. deep, pulsating bass and smooth weightless strings provide t he backdrop for shimmering melodies and neato noises mixed just right. i usuall y listen to things along the funkier side of things, but the two 4 by 4 cuts on the flip, "white plains" and "'r' future" massage my eardrums with that steady pulse. "'r' future" even builds up a groove and then throws in a little melody in the back of the mix, a la BFC - "galaxy". "planetarium" sounds electro or h ip-hop tinged, but not for long. swirling and floating is the name of the game here. anybody know if their "exit 9" 12" on peacefrog is around anymore? -ny seen recently - my schools resident arp 2500... holy shit!

There was a big interview/article with Insync in the last issue of magic feet, i think it's still on the web. As for insync/10th planet releases i've seen 'exit 9' around so i guess it's still available, also i was in london recently and i saw their irdial releases in rough trade, so i guess all their releases are still available. i recommend their 'these 4 walls' release, it's excellent.

Hi Sean,

I believe that DJ Strobocop's pseudonym is Karaoke Kalk. As far as i know MoM is composed of Andi Thorn (Koln) and Jan Werner (Dusseldorf). lord knows, tho, i've been wrong before. Jens Massel is behind Kandis and if I wasn't so rusty with my Deutch I'd likely know more. btw, has anyone heard or know anything about the Insync vs. Mysteron:Android Architect (Tenth Planet) full-length lp? marie

i found it to be nothing like Influx... an insult to Influx I think. i found it to be pretty boring... nothing really distinguishable between tracks, etc. not IDM... at least not by definition that the list sets... just my opinion. I'd like to know what Insync is up to. I hope he releases some stuff in his early style (which fits right in with early abstract ART/Warp/New Electronica style stuff). A (partial) Insync discography: . In Sync: Warm/Storm 12" (Irdial) . In Sync: Pomping Toms 12" (Irdial) . In Sync/Pluto: Ratcatcher 12" (Irdial) . Insync vs Mysteron: s/t 12? (Tenth Planet) . Insync vs Mysteron: These Four Walls 12? (Tenth Planet) . Insync vs Mysteron: Planetarium 12? (Tenth Planet) . Insync vs Mysteron: Android Architect cd/2x12 (Tenth Planet) . Insync vs Mysteron: Exit 9 12" (Peacefrog) . Insync vs Mysteron: Raw Fish 12" (Shield) . Insync vs Mysteron: Tales From the Crypt 12" (Fat Cat) . Ordinary Folk: Brain Repair 12" (Fragmented) . Ordinary Folk: The Beyond 12" (Beyond Music Company) Insync also did remixes for Being, Voyager, Moody Boys. He has appeared on scores of compilations including Irdial's "Too Many Fools Following Too Many Rules," the Fragmented Compilation vol 1," and on a few of the R&S "In Order to Dance" comps as well. I know their are many other Insync comp appearances but these are the only ones that come to mind at the moment. FYI: Insync's track "Storm" is one of the BEST building best techno deep techno tracks of all time. -->-Lance--- mclance@nacs.net lance@inaudible.com p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states
